#6 The Next Evening, Underground Building Part 2

Just before descending into the sandy chasm with his newly friended rescuers, Osric exclaims: "Lo! I've remembered something from my days at the Academy!"
A deep base intones a simple rhythm resonating through Osric's chest. The ground around the pack animals moves and shifts, slightly at first, to reveal rough fortifications in the sand. (think of "The Mummy" movie with the face being formed in the sand, but instead fortifications) Made of both sand and sandstone, a raised dike breaks through the surrounding dunes. Along the outside of the dikes are deep enough trenches to thoroughly discourage attackers from easily getting at the animals and packs nestled in the center.

With a happy look at the goddesses handy work, he adjusts his gear to bring with and test swings his Morning Star...."I've been fogged up for too long."

As Osric promised, now the pack of camel were surrounded by a sand wall and small trench circling them. It seemed a decently defensible position and would most certainly keep the animals from simply wandering off. It was about 20 foot square. The wall itself was about 4 foot tall, the ditch around a couple of feet deep at best.

It was sometimes forgotten of Ishtar's warlike side, especially in defensive rites. Many tended to focus on the harvest and temple, um, priestesses and their ministrations. *ahem*

Saskia related the words. "More dire warnings," she said. "This land is full of them."

Since no one else looked like they were going to do it, Saskia attempted to open the golden doors.

Despite Arristuun's disapproval, the door did not budge in the slightest (Or produce any apparent ill effect). Push or pull, it easily could've been a boulder instead of an entrance way. Either they could continue to experiment with the door, or could try one of the two other passageways before them.

Thorsan's shove, while quite strong, did nothing to budge the golden doors. So he turned to the left.
