Saskia did not know if the others would want her to speak for them, nor did she care. She would speak regardless. "I have asked Enki for guidance and he has sent you to us. Our fates are entwined. You will have our protection."

Galatea lowered her bow. "The others have decided to trust you. I have not. You will guide us but I will be watching your every move." She walked closer to him and added, in her own tongue, "If I get so much as a notion that you have betrayed any of us, or mean to harm any of my party, I will cut out your tongue, skin you alive, tan your skin and wear it. Are we clear?" She maintained eye contact, a little glimmer of excitement, as though she's enjoy such gruesomeness. It was something to which the others had become accustomed... Though it still creeped them out. They did have to admit, though: she always had their backs. It took a while for her to consider someone a friend but, once she did, she would do ANYTHING to protect them from any and all harm. That included torture and killing (she did seem to enjoy such things...).

After Galatea's warm greeting Bit quickly stepped inbetween the two - he has seen that look of hers before and had no desire to let her deliver on its promises.
Guiding the mysterious stranger towards the obelisk he interjected with a wink "Baal, don't let our friend here, get under your skin - literally or figuratively. Saskia has the ear of the gods and while she may not 'speak' for all of us, her guidance is mostly heeded."
Reaching the main body of the party by the fallen monument, he continued "Let me ask you, sand walker, are you familiar with any pyramids in this region?"

Baal took everyone's responses in for a moment. Though they were tested warriors and highly skilled adventurers, he could sense a deep founded mistrust of the unknown--especially strangers appearing out of nowhere.
Baal let out out a hearty and deep, bellowing laughter after Bit spoke of pyramids, "You may regret the answer I give you! We are all 'sand-walkers now! HAHAHAAHAHAAAA!" he firmly padded the shoulder of his new cohort.
He then turned to Saskia, abruptly halting his disarming laugh. He looked deeply into her eyes, "Enki is known to me. If you say our fates are intertwined, then it must be so! You have my services as a loyal guide, and my gratitude for your loyal defense." Baal looked at each of the wary wanderers and nodded his head in thanks.
Baal met Galatea's glare once again, took a step toward her as she had done to him, "Fairest mistress elf, you honor me with such creative and complex ways with which to cause me pain and death. You should know that I would not afford you such an end. You should also know that if I had had such cause to, I would have cut short your time in this world already. I only ask that you allow the coming days to build trust in one another." There was a sincerity and earnestness to the stranger's words. Baal hoped his proposal would be accepted without incident, if perhaps reluctantly.

"That remains to be seen". Galatea turned to Alfbern, keeping an eye on Baal, and addressed him, "Alfbern, are we camping or continuing on?"

"Once I am told which way to pyramid, we continue," Alfbern said. He had already remounted his camel and, with a glance, Saskia had chosen a camel for the new member of their band. "It is still couple hours before sun rises."

Baal filled in what he knew of the area and the obelisk. Both locations were mentioned in the local legends as being quite the wonder in their day, before whatever curse supposedly destroyed the old city-state where this grand pyramid was located. The Gardens of Pazar would be nothing but ruins, and would probably be located closer in distance. He would guess they'd be most likely down the right (south-west) path, and based on what he'd heard... that area got hilly after a bit and that wasn't something he'd heard mentioned with the pyramid.
The druid also comforted the party in mentioning that they most likely had enough stores for their trip to include travel to both locations, based on what he'd heard and seen of the party's baggage. Assuming no sandstorms or too many encounters with desert denizens, of course.

"Enki's counsel was to follow the shorter path first," Saskia said and climbed back atop her camel.

"That would have been my counsel as well," Baal confirmed the notion. "I believe there will be benefits to visiting the ruined gardens before entering the pyramid."

Arristuun was done peeing behind one of the columns and came around to rejoin the others. "Hey, who's that? Are we moving again already?" Whether anyone clued him in or not, Arristuun was not about to be left alone here. He took his camel's reins and whistled for Am to follow him.

"The gods have provided us a guide and a destination," Saskia told Arristuun.

"Has anyone thought that a god also provided us with that large and angry worm as well?" Bithautor's quipped "It could have been one of Enki's more mischievous moments..."

"I would not put it past him," Saskia answered in all seriousness.

"And the worm gave us a spare dwarf. Enlighten is most kind," Alfbern said. He clicked at his camel and gave it a kick with his heels. It gave a loud bray in objection but eventually began moving in that galumphing way Alfbern was already tired of.
"What other dangers in desert, Baal-Guide?"

"Oh! I had nearly forgot about the worm's previous meal!" He exclaimed. Over the next few minutes, Bit did his best to cajole his mount over to the unconcious, prone, stripped and camel-trussed dwarf. Finally, he was close enough to give him a good look, "Who else, besides us of course, would have the good fortune to be out here" He pondered as he examined their newest companion.
