Saskia sat imperiously on her camel, frowning down at the mess below. She would let Alfbern handle the situation regarding the treasure, he took fairness in such things very seriously. Seeing to this dwarf would be her responsibility.
With a sigh, Saskia slid off her mount and approached the unconscious dwarf. "He lives," she asked Galatea. The elf smirked and nodded her reply. Saskia squatted down next to the dwarf, watching him. His breathing was slow and shallow, but she judged he could still be saved. She performed a short ritual, coaxing divine power from Tammuz and using it to restore life to the dwarf.
((Cure Light Wounds on the unconscious dwarf.))

The shallow breathing quickly turned to gentle snoring as the wounds on the dwarf's face and arms began to close. He still seemed quite injured, but having seen her share of life threatening wounds, Saskia was sure that he'd wake up eventually on his own. On closer inspection, the dwarf's plate armor seemed to be less damaged than she'd assume given the nature of the situation. He also had a small pile of weapons about him, but not much more. It seemed this poor guy had been caught off guard to the worm's attack as a threatening looking morningstar was still strapped to his belt.

Peering over Saskia's shoulder as she knelt by the Dwarf, Thorsan watched the Druid's powerful healing magic do its work. "Didnna realize the room was already rented when I checked in." he muttered. Seeing the dwarf breathing naturally again, he shrugged and recovered his dropped hammer, and began using handfuls of sand to clean some of the muck off his weapons and then his armor. "Think the meat's worth anythin'?" he asked no one in particular.

>Bit slowly stopped his spinning blade and let it fall lamely to his side. Staring at the rendered carcass of the beast and looking over the group he sputtered "That was...fast?...Did Thorsan..?...Wait..how by the gods did you >come across a Lightning Javelin?!"
"Oh...right. You weren't with us on that one adventure when we faced the Lightning Riders of Eshnunna. I collected a few souvenirs that day. Been saving them for a rainy day."
Arristuun checked to make sure Am was alright and found his goat was wisely keeping a good 30' away from the great dead worm. Then Arristuun came over for a closer look at this strange stomach-dwarf. Seeing no threat, he then checked to see if the worm's tunnel had collapsed behind it, or was stable.

If there was indeed a tunnel it would be in the bedrock or packed earth beneath the sand (however far down that may be). Loose detritus, sand and dust had already blocked that route, if there was indeed one nearby.

"Show us everything," Alfbern said patiently. "Or lose out of future shares. Hill people bad with figures, probably miscalculate not in your favor. It would be better you share all of the gems. But it up to you."
Alfbern found this work a necessary chore in dealing with these Flatland children. He had found that consistency and calm were usually the answer.

"Lightning Riders of Eshunna? You squared off against those madmen? And you survived with their javelins as the spoils?!" Bit exclaimed as he shook his head in wonderment.
Making his way back to a camel, he frantically worked over this new information. Up until this moment he had considered Arristuun eccentric - who can deny that a Ranger of the waters with a pet goat is not something to question - but he had never truly considered that the man may be both eccentric and powerful. Looking around the motley crew, he narrowed his eyes: The madly grinning dwarf covered in worm bile...the righteous elf bickering over the spoils...Zacklun, wherever he was...For the first time he saw that everyone in this group was dangerous. Dangerous to anyone - or anything - that may cross its path. This was a very nice change from his past companions.
And that made him smile. "Does anyone care to see what curses lie ahead?"

"Fine. Count everything out. I'm going to go explore in the tunnels. Shout if the dwarf gets eaten again!" Galatea rushed off to the dark, filthy tunnel and jumped in as though it was a refreshing, crystal clear lake.

A bewildered Saskia watched Galatea leap into the sand pit. Shaking her head she approached her brother. "The elf is a mad woman. Almost as crazy as the dwarf. He, at least, is predictable. I cannot say the same for her."
She motioned to the dead worm with her head. "You did well. That was a difficult shot."

Galatea must have been hallucinating, as there clearly was no tunnel to jump into. After a minute of hiding behind the gigantic worm carcass she made her way back to the party with a sheepish grin.

"You guys really need to find a sense of humor. Maybe the worm ate some?" Galatea sat and sharpened her sword, already bored with the conversation and situation.

Baal looked upon the outcast troop from his nearby, and safe distance. The party seemed to be arguing about something, but perhaps he was too far to discern exactly what that was. No matter. It was probably about something unimportant, like who got credit for slaying the beast or who got to keep any items that the creature might have previously swallowed.
More importantly, where were they headed? What were they doing stranded in the desert? And why did the elf look like she was plunging into a pool of fresh water near the slain wurm?? Perhaps she had succumb to the heat.
Baal continued to observe . . .

Bailey inspected the mess made by the worm as any dog would. "Being eating is thirsty work." Taliesin handed the unexpected dwarf his water skin. "The story behind how you found yourself in the belly of that worm must be a tale worth hearing. I am Taliesin and we're on an errand to deal with some local raiders." He looked to the others as he added, "I doubt anyone would mind if you came along."

The main thing on everyone's minds was what to do with the newfound unconscious (I mean really out cold) dwarf (Like comatose). That and how awesome lightning javelins were.
