"Yes...that does help! Your magic saves the day again, Osric..."
Arristuun lashed the woven mats together with rope, ran them over the top of the stone curtain wall, and then spread Talesin's tarp out over that. "There! That should improvise a tent that can shade most of us, even at noon! Now let's post watches and the rest of us get some rest..."

Baal started propping up one of the reed mats against the sandy barrier Osric raised with his prayer. Using his spear as a brace, he sat beneath the mat as it sagged partially resting upon his head. He had long suffered for being so tall. Oh, the burden! He started fidgeting with the mat and his spear, trying to get them to keep a better position as shelter from the sun.
To the observer, it almost seemed like the wizened desert dweller had lost his nerve.
Baal took his daggers and used those to pin the reed mats against the earthy sand dune wall. There. Finally, something resembling an improvised hut appeared. The druid sighed, laid on his side and began to meditate on the many possible futures that might play out for the band of cursed wanderers . . .

((Arristuun lashed together however many woven mats were left that Baal hadn't claimed for himself. On Second thought, Ari wouldn't need many; just 2-4 for ballast on the sides, holding the rope supporting the tarp.))

It was crude but better than nothing as far as shelter was concerned. The next evening came and the party began to move on as the first stars began to show.
